Really????

John and I are managing an apartment complex in south LA. There are many times where we look at actions people here have taken and say, "Really????"
Like: Really???? You have a stream of water the size of the Mississippi pouring out of your tub everytime you shower and you didn't think to call me 2 weeks ago? or Really??? You are going to go to the bathroom in the bushes on the front of the property (not a resident)?? or Really??? You are going to toss a 40 gallon acquarium back by the dumpsters completely filled still with rocks and water??

That being said, although we don't live in the nicest of areas, we are on a friendly basis with everyone who lives here and work hard to make sure everyone meets some relatively strict qualifications (we deny 10 times more applicants than we accept). So, for the most part, I thought the people here were pretty nice and respectful.

This year, I decided I wanted to try and do some container gardening because I actually had a balcony on which to do it. Of course I planted tomatoes because I could eat them ALL DAY LONG. However, we actually had to place the plants outside of the balcony so they would get enough sun, even though they would be accessible to passersby. This brings me to my most recent quandary, Really??? You are going to steal every maybe ripe-ish tomato off my plants??? When it happened with the first ready tomato, I was disapointed because who doesn't want to eat the first tomato of the season? Then last night at 10:30-ish I went to water the plants and noticed two in the back coming ripe (pink/partially green). This morning at 8:30 am they were gone. I know it's only three tomatoes, but there aren't even that many on my poor plants (I blame the radom sun exposure rather than my gardening skills).

John told me from the beginning people would take them and I guess I just naively believed people in general were better than that. I was wrong.

For real?? That really surprises me! Although I really have no room to talk because this morning we woke up to our mailbox on the ground....hit by a car?? we think not! It appears as though someone has taken a shovel to the ground around it. Come on people!! If it isn't yours, LEAVE IT ALONE! I hope you are able to enjoy a tomato really soon :)

I guess someone else thought they wanted tomatoes and "just like magic" someone put some in the hall.
