just like magic
i just had to write this because i thought it was really funny. as you probably know, john and i are managing and apartment complex (yay - free rent!).
[scene opens]
its been a long day. van has been grumpy, rachel has been going in 12 different directions, and john and rachel are both tired. the clock signals that its 7:30 p.m., van's down for the night and john and rachel are both hungry with no plan for dinner and no desire to spend the time cooking something and then cleaning up afterwards.
KNOCK. KNOCK. KNOCK. (resident knocking on front door)
john: grumbling
rachel: (mumbles under her breath to john) whoever it is at the front door, MAKE ME DINNER!
resident: here's the rent. by the way, do you guys like meat?
rachel: what?????
resident: i have some honey glazed pork with bacon. do you want it? it is still warm and we don't eat leftovers. its really good.

yep - just like magic. next time someone is knocking maybe i'll say, "whoever is at the front door, a big bucket of ice cream, please!!!" or "whoever is at the front door, give me ten million dollars!!!"

What a blessing! Something similar happened today...I didn't really want to cook. Scott came home at 5:00, saw I hadn't started dinner, and suggested we get Chineese. The difference, we had to pay for ours :) I hope it was delish!! Good luck with getting the ice cream and other wishes :) Sometime we really should get together!
