happenings

ive actually made an effort of late to try and document the stuff going on. go figure.
noah talks like crazy. it often surprises me because he speaks complete sentences. his favorite phrase is "where'd my (fill in the blank) go?" the most common fill ins are blanket, doggies and daddy. unfortunately with all this talking, we also frequently hear "no way!" and repeat pleas for "chocolate" and "cookies". phrases we are less excited about, especially because he speaks them so enthusiastically.

while we're talking about language, i might as well note that van frequently slips a "so..." into his regular conversation. ie: "i ate my breakfast, so....", "noah took my horses, so...", "i'm not tired, so..." He isn't using them as part of an argument, but at some point he'll figure it out.  also, when he sings, "I am a Child of God" my favorite line is, "with parents kind of dear."

back to documenting. with photos. my grandparents visited us last weekend and brought apples with them from olin's tree. the boys have been loving them before breakfast while oatmeal is cooking.

last year, halloween was a disaster - van didn't want to be in a costume at all and didn't understand the concept.
so we've been prepping early this year. i'd say it is going pretty well, and that rody has played a key role in our practice.

noah and van race around the table all the time. on one such occasion noah slid into a train table. his ear was pretty swollen. as bad as it looks in this photo - and the photo doesn't do it justice.

oh, and the boys helped me make waffles this morning. then, they ate them still at the counter as soon as they  were ready. they are both big fans of "snow" aka whipped cream. but then, who isn't?
