today it happened
i'd been expecting this day would come for quite some time. in fact, each day i would think... "van's gonna figure it out soon, hopefully not today." but today, it happened. he figured out that he didn't actually have to SWALLOW the food i was feeding him. we're in for some messy, patience-testing mealtimes.
*until now he has dutifully swallowed every single bite i gave him - in fact i didn't even worry when i was feeding him something i knew he didn't like because as long as i could get it in his mouth (which he did occassionally make challenging) it never came back out.

Ha! I knew he couldn't possibly be the dream boy in everything. I won't think it is so great when I have to feed him though, he has been such a trooper to eat everything so willingly! After he spits out his food, I bet he will still smile at you charmingly. :-)
