an ode to the suburban

i know that it has been quite a while since we last posted. so i thought it might be nice to treat you to the following gem.
recently, john and i moved again, see following post for our reasoning for the move. in anycase, while moving, we were able to borrow my parent’s suburban.
in this process, i began to think about how useful this particular car has been and how many memories i have in it. i would like to share a few of my favorite memories regarding the suburban here.
1. learning to drive. yes, all of my driving skills...including the drivers test both times i took it...were taken in this beast.
2. homecoming parade floats. it is true...the suburban is widely responsible for the class of 99 having a high school homecoming float both the sophomore and junior years. it carted 2x4s, paper, paint, people and more for successful events.
3. those darned door handles. they are notorious for not opening. one time kristy was sitting in the front seat and couldn’t get the door open. putting all of her weight...no more than ninety pounds soaking wet... into the door, she promptly slammed the door into the neighboring car. that woman was sooooo not happy.
4. taking me up to college. sitting in the suburban on the ten hour trip up to provo about killed me. all that anxiety and excitement...i had to go for a long run as soon as i got there.
5. road trip to canada. right after my mission, my mom and me and they boys took a long drive in the suburban up to canada for a family reunion. the only time i left my stuff in the other car, it got broken into and stolen. knew i should have trusted in the suburban...im still not over it.
6. moving, moving, moving. now that john and i have used the suburban to move twice in the last 8 months, i have remembered how truly valuable and useful this vehicle is. although quite beat up...and expensive to fill up...it is AMAZING how much stuff you can get into it!

I don't mean to be a stickler... but... well... not technically an ode. ...at all.

I am so happy you guys were able to move, and I thought centipeds were bad. Thanks again for the ride to the airport, and coem see us
