guess who turned 9 months...
nine things about van:1- he still has the same amount of hair he did 3 months ago
2- he loves to play hide-and-seek with rachel*
3- he goes down for naps and at night super easy. all we do is just put him in his bed
4- when he wakes up, he loves to just sit with john for a while
5- he's got quick hands - particularly when snatching glasses, headbands, sunglasses, hearing aids, etc.
6- he gets a very determined look on his face that includes scrunching up his nose when he is "going after something"
7- he gets very quiet and "stares down" anyone new and refuses to smile until he feels comfortable
8- he crawls all over the place, walks along furniture, lets go and stands for a few seconds but isn't quite ready to try walking yet
9-he seriously has to be the best baby ever. he certainly puts up with us carting him all over the place and is patient as we try to figure out balancing our crazy schedules. lets hope this continues into his teens! ;)
*random sidenote: i (rachel) am frequently on my hands and knees either crawling after van or waiting for him to crawl after me. a few nights ago, john woke up to me crawling around our room in the middle of the night chasing/looking for van. i was really distressed because i couldn't find him and thought i'd lost him. john, still not quite awake pulled out a fashlight to help me look. right about then is when i woke up and realized van was safe and sound asleep in his bed!
rach! i can't believe that you were sleep-crawling. that is amazing. i need to see that boy soon and kiss those cheekies!!

I love the crawling story! I don't know that I have ever been on the floor crawling...but I have sat up in bed and talked on many occasions :) Van looks so big in the pictures you have been posting. I am glad he is a good baby!
